There are a lot of ways that could be solved, but most likely the Battlestate Games would just rent other European servers for the time being, until the crisis is resolved. It could have an impact on other servers as they would have to handle the load from countries that border Russia but don't have a dedicated server in their own country. So as things stand right now, players should be able to continue playing the game even if the sanctions target the Russian servers. We took a look at the list of servers that Escape from Tarkov is running on, and while Russia does have the most servers in Europe (8 to be exact), there are still alternatives in almost every larger European state, not to mention the USA which has servers in 17 different cities across the state. However, with a lot of geo-political things going around currently, especially having in mind the sanctions from EU countries & USA towards Russia, a lot of players are rightfully asking will they be able to continue playing the game and for how long, as the Battlestate Games, the company behind Escape from Tarkov, is Russian. There are some bottleneck issues at crowded times such as weekend evenings but nothing out of the ordinary.
As of the 7th of March, Escape from Tarkov is running as normal as ever.
